Petrochemicals in the Home The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has opened everyone's eyes to the dangers of the petrochemical industry. Most people think of fuel consumption as a problem related to the auto industry, but do not realize that petrochemicals are ingredients in many of the household cleaners used everyday. Once scientists learned how to manipulate hydrocarbon molecules, they realized they could create cheaper chemicals from crude oil that would do the same job with less manufacturing effort. Within a generation of this discovery, plant-based cleaners were replaced by mass produced petrochemical products. Using all natural cleaning products - soaps, dishwashing liquids, and laundry detergents - will mean improved health and a better environment. Products manufactured with petrochemicals, on the other hand, consume more total energy since they are made from resources used as energy. According to the Soap and Detergent Association, the soap and detergent industry recognizes that petroleum reserves are finite and that it needs to take extra care to ensure that this resource is not wasted. If every household in the U.S. replaced just one bottle of 50 ounce petroleum-based liquid laundry detergent with a 50 ounce natural cleaning product, we could save 280,000 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 16,000 U.S. homes for a year! Environmentally friendly cleaners can make a difference! We can't control what is unfolding in the gulf, but we can control our personal use of petrochemicals. BIO GREEN CLEAN I don't normally get too impressed with the stuff I buy, but Bio Green Clean is simply amazing. Took me awhile to justfiy spending the money on it but it was well worth it. Been hearing your adds on the Ed Schultz show and I decided to give it a try. I have an auto upholstery shop and I thought maybe it would work on cleaning leather seats so I started there . It worked so well without damaging the dyes and drying the hide out I took it home and went on a cleaning binge. I can tell you, I haven't found anything it doesn't work on yet! Even the glass on the outside of the toaster oven. Now that was a real test. I've had to use laquer thinner on it in the past to get the crud off the inside. Bio Green Clean just melted it away. Speaking of glass, it works as a glass cleaner without streaking or leaving a residue even removing hard water stains. I use it to clean the bugs off the front of my car, doesn't take the wax off or leave a film. The really nice thing is that it doesn't dry your hands out like harsh soaps can. I use it on our kitchen stove and it makes it look like new. I could go on but, I think you get the idea. Thanks for a great product and if anyone needs convincing tell them to give me a call. I have to let you know that now that it is grilling season, it is time to clean the grill and get it ready for the long weekend. I used the spray to clean the grease filled collection trays inside our weber gas grill and it worked wonders as usual. Once I removed the soft heavy grease with a spatula, I applied the spray to loosen the remaining grease and wiped it out with ease. I then just basically rinsed with mild soap and water for an almost new look. I cleaned the outside of the grill as well with ease.
